Awesome app. It has been very useful to me. It use to work here in Upstate New York, but not anymore. Vessels from New York harbor disappears from the map as it gets farther north.

I have been amazed at the value of this app and the marinetraffic.com site it shares. I provide training support for the Navy, and I can say that it is a great resource. I just wish the filters would give a better indication of wether each was active or not, I have to toggle each occasionally to tell. I really like the shipping density graphics as well. An alert for Search and Rescue (SAR) AIS within a selectable range, (ex. <200 nm) would be extremely valuable.

Intuitive, easy, and well designed. I find what I want fast and easy.

Awhile ago I wrote a review, which ironically, I couldnt send because the app had crashed. "The latest version is excellent. Finally it opens in the last location I was in. Thats a big improvement. I live near the water and I love this app!" But now I want to add two caveats. Its great EXCEPT that several times a week, it slows down to the point of non-responsiveness. Thats irritating but probably costly to fix. However, the other issue I have should be free. Every once in a while something gets updated...and the entire "previous ports of call" database gets zeroed out. That removes a lot of Marine Traffics usefulness, and it takes weeks before a new history starts to build up. Please, when you upgrade, could you import the previous history too? Or, if its the source databases you draw from that are the problem, could you just add in the information from your last backup? It would make a good app even better!

For my business it is imperative that I have accurate information on the vessels and their location. This app helps me tremendously!!

Best App there is of its type. Wish the casual user and lover of ships and the sea could have larger fleets. Otherwise, great!

I vacation frequently in the South of France and love using this site to help sort out who is coming and going from the various ports. It is great fun and this app is very accurate. I wish they had a somewhat lower priced version for passive use like this but as it is it is free so really cant complain.

Sometimes slows to a crawl. A bigger problem is that if you upload photos they have moderators that very subjectively delete the photos. They are very inconsistent with how they apply photo standards. If you ask why the photos are deleted, they will go in and delete more as some type of punishment for asking.

If youre expecting help with this app, Forget it! I emailed the developer a few days ago. No Response!!!

The vessel tracking options doesnt work well

I originally got this app in order to track a group of high school students of mine who were on a weeklong educational voyage. The app allowed me to track them for the entire time that they were at sea. In addition, and as a pleasant and unexpected surprise, I found myself tracking other ships and identifying other marine traffic that I would see anytime I was near the ocean or around the Great Lakes. Its educational, informative, and a lot of fun.

Needs navigation. At least a way to select a location, I.e. The berthing location of a vessel. And the be able to open google maps or some other navigation tool to get directions.

This app is extremely useful in my profession as a vessel operator. I would have given 5 stars if there was a way to enter my entire fleet of 22 vessels under one "fleet".

Was on vacation at Tybee Island and downloaded this app to track the ships we saw coming in and out of port. A lot fun!

Nice but the up date to ships location is slow, sometimes many days behind. Especially my fleet.

I use this app to track my boyfriend. Hes a merchant marine and being able to see where he is in the world several times a day makes me feel closer to him when hes gone for months at a time. Sometimes I zoom in on a nearby island and email him little fun facts I researched about whatever land mark he just passed. Dont worry, I dont stalk him when hes home, only when hes sailing
